Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri has been a popular Indian actress, who gained notoriety for her roles in Hum Aapke Hain Koun as well as Beta Saajan. She started her career in early 1980s. The role she played as Anil Kapoor in Tezaab has made her hugely well-known. The next time she appeared on screen was Dil along with Aamir. In Mumbai her home, she grew up by middle class parents. When she was a young age, she started to learn dance. In her early years, when she first started to perform as an actress, most of the films that she made weren't successful. Her breakthrough came when she finally had success and she was one of the top actors in the Indian film industry. She decided to take a break from her profession due to her marriage, before going back to the world of entertainment. More recently she played an important role in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the challenges faced by women living in India. Dixit received fifteen Filmfare Awards nominations, of which, eight were awarded. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award given to civilians in India was awarded to her. Social work by her is well-known.
